  • St. Patrick’s Day

    “I am not afraid of any of these things [murder, betrayal, slavery]
    because of the promises of heaven;
    for I have put myself in the hands of God Almighty.”
    ~  St. Patrick

    Requisite of Irish monastic hospitality:
    a clean house,
    a big fire,
    and a couch without sorrow.

    Patrick’s legacy:  St. Columba and the Abbey at Iona
    It is a dream of mine to see Iona some day,
    to stand on these grounds
    and to thank God for his faithful servants.

  • Can I come with you when you go?

  • Beautiful photos, Carol! I’ve always thought it would be great fun to have a classical moms tour of Europe. We might never come home!

  • I pray the Lord gives you the desire of your heart~~~that trip to Ireland. I know that with your wonderful, descriptive writing I could myself accompany you vicariously!
