  • Fine Art Friday

    A Music Party
    Arthur Hughes, 1864

This painting makes me laugh today.
What music can be playing that is putting them all into a stupor?
I just heard a most glorious concert of
    Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto
which was thrilling in its vigor and virtuosity.
The boy in the back of A Music Party reminds me of my son
during certain poetry readings…giving in to a languid, ‘this will eventually be over’ state.

    Happy Friday, all.

  • Now I was going to count the kitchen drawer pictures as your *Fine Art* entry….ya know – design, perspective, and color.  It was all there :)

This one is lovely though.  I have several I keeping meaning to share with you in mind…..of reading/readers/books.

Back to work….still a few more hours in the workday here.  Then a walk.  Then a movie w/DH.

  • Another beautiful redhead! Is that a musical instrument next to the dark haired boy to the right? The children are either mesmerized by the music or getting sleepy because it’s a lullaby.
